Tuesday

This morning, Greg got up a little before 5 o'clock. He met up with his fellow deputies and staked out a house. He then ran through back yards, crashed through bushes, and confronted strippers and druggies in a 4th-story attic apartment, all in hopes of finding a murder suspect.
This morning, I got up a little after 5 o'clock. I scraped ice off my windshield, devoured a Kashi granola bar and chugged a Doubleshot, then helped unload, unwrap, and display nearly 4,000 pieces of merchandise at my new job.
We're about even, in my opinion.
Lunch was the buffet at the Global Cafe, which is fortuitously close to Greg's apartment.
Unfortunately, I left Los Angeles almost immediately after Melanie and I found the absolute best mom and pop Indian restaurant. I now have a serious appreciation for naan bread and chicken tikka masala. Turns out, the cafe is representin'. See picture at right. I feasted on rice, chicken, and mustard greens until I was quite full. For dessert, I had a second helping, this time in a bowl. I now have a food baby. Good thing I purchased a magazine in December that has a 5-page spread, complete with photos, of Jennifer Aniston's workout routine. Now, if I could only find said periodical...
Then, while driving home, I passed the sign pictured below. The last time I posted a sign with less than stellar spelling (dounts, anyone?), the reaction was minimal at best. Nevertheless, my brain is wired to spot deficiencies of many kinds, so I was compelled to use my new camera to document this one.
I wonder if the sign maker is to blame, or if Mr. Clark wanted to be different and catchy, or if he just doesn't care unless it's made of rubber.
My afternoon was spent like all my afternoons: typing. My cat is perfect, by the way. She sometimes sits on my lap as I work, but today, she preferred the back room, looking out the window. Reason #24 why she is perfect: she doesn't try to eat food off of my plate. Ever. The disinterest of cats wins out over beggarly dogs always!
Enough for now. As I mentioned before, I got up at 5 o'clock. What am I, crazy? (that is rhetorical)

i have much to comment on, so get ready.
1) Tuesday for me: I woke up at 9:30, in time to get cereal ready before Ellen, watched Ellen, put pictures in a photo album, walked just long enough to realize that all i was doing was fuming over something stupid in an email, showered, read for a bit, drove my dad to his office, returned home to realize i was locked out of the house and really really had to pee, went to a gas station to pee, fumed for a bit longer over the absolute nothingness of my day, then met up with Ryan where i decided that just because i had given up eating out for Lent didn't mean i had given up drinking out and had myself a 23 oz Amber Bock purchased by Mr. Fiser. i still think you and Greg win for your days.
2) I had no idea you loved Indian food. you know, it is the only Asian food that i like which is ironic considering my recent 4 month stint in a rather large Asian country. it was in that country that i discovered my love for Indian food, specifically garlic naan, any sort of marsala and vegetable samosas. you and me-Indian food sometime soon, ok? ok.
3)Having spent aforementioned stint in a country where many a words are left out, rearranged in a hilarious way, or spelled completely wrong, i have a serious love/hate relationship with signs such as this one and the donut sign. i recently passed a sign at a used car lot that read: "Car's for Sale." i cringed. i told my dad about it. he said he had seen it too, and that the mayor of our lovely city owns that lot. are you kidding me???
i think that's all.
I agree, your cat is fabulous. Cat, in general, are incredibly entertaining and have great potential for snuggliness. I especially like the ones (like yours and mine) who love laps. I fell asleep on the couch a few nights ago and ended up with 3 on me: mine plus one more! (Don't worry, the cat lives here - he didn't just climb through the window or something.)
Mmmm, Naaaaaannn bread!
you crack me up. sarahanne has clearly never met benny.
