Lately

It's a week before Christmas. I'm packing up my dwindling life for yet another move. I've made the 4 trips to Goodwill, even deigning to relinquish such items as this sweater that Crispin sent to me. Her line? "We're turning into our mothers. I dare you..." It had sequins! Our Christmas decorations consist of my 5-year-old Yankee Candle with the charred remains of four-score matches in the bottom (a friend showed me how to use candles even when the wicks are gone and Yankee Candles are expensive!), construction paper versions of a snowman, wreath and tree on the wall and a nutcracker on the TV. Our Hanukkah decorations are nonexistent. 'Tis the season. And for all of you wondering what exactly Kwanza(a) is, I found this very informative.

It was in the 50s yesterday, and somewhat drizzly. I saw people wearing hats, gloves and scarves. I spent an hour sitting on a picnic bench in the U-Haul breakroom because they have no customer lounge for, oh, I don't know, trailer hitch installations that take '2-3 hours'. The nearest Starbucks was 1.4 miles away and the area was a bit shady. It ended up taking 1, but Rene tried to charge me for 2. We settled for 1.5.

Most amusing to me of late has been the Buffalo Bar and Grill, only blocks from my office. On my way home one evening, I saw a large truck and some guys blowing a white, foamy substance on the building. Insulation? No. The final product is pictured above. They've re-done it twice now, if I had caught this in the morning instead of afternoon, there would be 'snow' even above the awning. What attention to detail!

So that's all for now. I'm sure there's more to say, but I mostly wanted to get those pics up to placate the masses.

DUST RAG!

I would TOTALLY wear it! Seriously. I think I should make Melanie go through your stuff for "Kristin-fabulous" article...

however, I couldn't fit into you clothes!

My friend's neighbor had a Christmas party last weekend, rented a snowblower, and spent two days covering the front and back lawn with beautiful white powder.
