Money to Burn

I live 5.6 miles (that's 8 minutes, according to Google Maps) from my place of business. It takes me between 15 and 20 minutes to drive in the mornings. And the majority of that time is spent waiting at lights to either enter or exit Interstate 10 (known to locals as 'da-10'). As I pass over Interstate 405 (known to locals, surprisingly, as 'da-405'), I am glad I drive toward the Pacific instead of inland. It should be known as 'da parking lot' at rush hour. Gas price today: $2.73.
The upside: whereas I, living in area code 423, would typically drive as many as 50-75 miles a day, in area code 310/323, I get by on about 10-15. That means that although I get 15 mpg instead of 22, I can still go 2 weeks on a tank of gas. So there!

that was great!
nice. very nice.
just for the record, the fake word i had to enter for word verification was "skucs" - so close to a real word that describes so well the state of our gasoline prices...although, they are going down a bit here in the south. as is the temperature...no offense, or anything. yeah.
